I am currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with Prof. Anil K. Jain in the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) Lab, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Michigan State University (MSU). I mainly focus on the research of heterogeneous face recognition, multi-view face recognition with 3D face modeling, demographic (e.g., age, gender, and ethnicity) estimation, and soft biometric traits (e.g., tattoo) based identification.

From 2001 to 2005, I studied for the B.S. degree in School of Computer Science and Technology from Shandong University, Jinan, China, and from 2005 to 2011, I studied for the Ph.D. degree of Computer Science and Technology at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, under the supervision of Prof. Wen Gao.

During the Ph.D. study, I worked as a research assistant in the Face Detection and Recognition Group of JDL, and worked closely with Prof. Xilin Chen and Prof. Shiguang Shan, focusing on computer vision and image processing, such as face recognition, facial lighting attribute estimation and analysis, and illumination preprocessing (normalization).
