My current research focuses on ecological stoichiometry of plants, as well as global environmental change and the impacts of these on ecosystem properties. I studied the relationships between stoichiometric homeostasis and ecosystem structure, functioning and stability for the first time, which represents a bold move towards a better grasping of the role of stoichiometry at levels of both species and ecosystem. I am also conducting experiments to study the interactive effects of precipitation, nitrogen, light, warming and biodiversity on grassland ecosystem processes, which will be very helpful to understand ecosystem dynamics combined with plant community and meteorological data in the past three decades in Inner Mongolia grassland.
