My research is focusing on three major thematic areas: 1) understanding the metabolic and physiological mechanisms of fruit storability; 2) developing pre- and post-harvest chemical/non-chemical treatments and temperature/atmospheric storage/shipping conditions; and 3) improving industrial practices. These themes underpin a research vision of preserving quality, reducing postharvest losses, and extending marketability of sweet cherry and potato.
