Dr. Nan (Jonas) Yang received the B.S. degree in Electronics from China Agricultural University, China, in 2005, the M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, China in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, China, in January 2011. He was a recipient of the Best Ph. D. Thesis Award. From August 2008 to August 2010, he was a visiting Ph.D. student with the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. From October 2010 to September 2012, he was an OCE Postdoctoral Fellow with the Wireless and Networking Technologies Laboratory at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), Sydney, Australia. Since October 2012, he has been with the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. In June 2013, he was a visiting scholar at University of South Australia, Australia. In September 2012, he was a visiting scholar at University of British Columbia, Canada. From November to December 2011, he was a visiting scholar at Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore. His general research interests lie in the area of communications theory and signal processing, with specific interests in cooperative communications, MIMO systems, resource allocation, physical layer security, and cognitive radio.
