白文明,男,1969年生,博士学历,中国科学院植物研究所副研究员。1997年9月-2000年7月,在中国农业大学资源与环境学院土壤水系攻读博士学位,主攻植物生长与水分关系,研究了干旱沙区灌溉条件下紫花苜蓿的生长发育规律,建立了乌兰布和沙区紫花苜蓿根系吸水模型和生长发育模拟模型等。2001年至今在中国科学院植物研究所工作,主要从事根系生态学、草原生态学和恢复生态学研究工作,重点探索和实践了微根窗技术的改进,并首次将改进的玻璃根窗法和扫描仪法成功地应用在内蒙古典型草原植物根系生态学研究中,初步验证了草原植物根系寿命控制因素和机理。
