Jin-Xiao MI is a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Xiamen University in Fujian province, China, where he has been a faculty member since 1997. He received his B.Sc. (1985), M.Sc. (1988) and Ph.D.(1995) in mineralogy at the China University of Geosciences in Wuhan, Hubei province, China. He spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing at the Wuhan University of Technology (1995-1997), and was a guest scientist at the Max-Plank Institute of Chemistry and Physics in Dresden, Germany (2001-2002). His research focuses on experimental mineralogy, clay minerals, lithium batteries, inorganic materials and crystal chemistry; and research expertise is X-ray diffraction technologies and crystal-structure determinations.
