My research is generally focused on studying condensed matter/materials physics by development and application of first-principles electronic-structure calculation methods. Currently I am particularly interested in band structures engineering and materials by design for optoelectronic semiconductors. The specific research topics are briefly listed as follows:
Photovoltaic, light-emitting, photocatalytic materials
Hybrid halide perovskites, two-dimensional graphene-like materials, oxide semiconductors
Low-dimensional/nanostructured semiconductor materials
Semiconductor materials at extreme condition (e.g., at high pressures)
