Dr. Peng Chen is currently a Professor at Anhui University. Prior to Anhui University, he was an postdoc fellow in King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST) from Jun. 2012. From Jan. 2011 to Jan. 2013, he was an Associate Professor in the Institute of Intelligent Machines (IIM), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hefei Anhui, P.R.China. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Control Science and Engineering from Electronic Engineering Institute (EEI) and Kunming University of Science and Technology (KMUST), respectively, and Ph.D degree in Pattern Recognition and IntelligeSystems from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). From Jan. 2006 to Jul. 2006, he was a senior research associate in City University of HongKong (CityU) and, from 2008 to 2010, he was a postdoctoral research fellow in Howard University (HU), USA and at Bioinformatics Research Centre, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Dr. Chen's research interests include machine learning and data mining with applications to pattern recognition, bioinformatics, etc. He has published more than 20 high quality referred papers in top conferences and journals, including TCBB, BMC Bioinformatics, Amino Acids, and FEBS Letters, etc. Dr. Chen has been often invited as PC member and/or referee/reviewer for many premier international conferences and journals, including TNN, NN, IJDMB, DMIN2011, BIFE2010, IJCNN2007, and others.
