Potyviruses are plant viruses that infect various kinds of economic crops and cause enormous losses. Here we describe three potyviruses: East Asian passiflora virus(EAPV), Telosma mosaic virus(TelMV) and Passion fruit severe mottle virus(PFV), with mosaic, chlorosis, and curly-leaf symptoms in passionfruit collected from Yuanmou County, Yunnan Province. Comparison of their coat protein(CP) showed several similar characteristics and some differences. The phylogenetic tree showed CP of EAPV, TelMV and PFV with other related isolates have some distance. However, several basic physicochemical properties and secondary structure of their coat protein and some other properties are similar to each other. These results may establish a foundation for the development of antibodies specific to these viruses.
