A cana-de-a 迆car 谷 de grande interesse no per赤odo da seca por propiciar alta produ o de carboidratos e ser armazenada naturalmente com pequena queda do valor nutritivo. Diante disto, com o objetivo de identificar variedades de cana-de-a 迆car indicadas para alimenta o animal, realizou-se um experimento conduzido na Esta o ExperimentalBarra do Cho a e no campus de Itapetinga pertencente 角 UESB. Foram avaliadas 23 variedades no delineamento em blocos casualizados, com duas repeti es, colhidas 16 meses ap車s o plantio. Foram determinadas caracter赤sticas agron micas e qu赤mico-bromatol車gicas. Quanto 角s caracter赤sticas estudadas, observou-se diversidade entre as variedades. Os teores encontrados para mat谷ria mineral, extrato et谷reo e prote赤na bruta foram baixos, evidenciando a necessidade de suplementa o em dietas 角 base de cana-de-a 迆car. Dentre asvariedades de cana-de-a 迆car estudadas, as que apresentaram maior potencial para continuidade de estudos com animais foram RB76-5418, CB47-355, CP-5122 e SP80-2015, pois apresentaram maior equil赤brio entre as caracter赤sticas agron micas e os componentes qu赤micos que podem favorecer o desempenho animal. There is currently great interest in sugarcane utilization during dry weather periods due to its capacity of high carbohydrate production and because it can be stored naturally with little loss in nutritional value. Thus, an experiment was performed in the experimental Station of Barra do Cho a and in the Itapetinga of UESB campus, to identify the potential of different sugarcane varieties for animal feeding. Twenty-three sugarcane varieties were harvested 16months after planting, and evaluated using a completely randomized complete block design with two repetitions. Agronomic and bromatological characteristics were estimated. Diversity was verified among the varieties for the studied characteristics. The levels ofashes, ether extract and crude protein found were low, which evidenced the need for supplementation in sugarcane-based diets. The RB76-5418, CB47-355, CP-5122 and SP80-2015 sugarcane varieties presented potential for continuing animals studies due to the largerequilibrium between the agronomic and bromatological characteristics that can improve animal performance.
