The purpose of this study was to evaluate the interaction between genotypes and environments, evaluate adaptability and stability, and study the relationship between genetic structure and homeostasis. In addition to landrace, the study evaluated recommended genotypes or genotypes in experimental recommendation stages (varieties and hybrids) in three environments in northern and northwestern Rio de Janeiro State. Eight traits were measured, including grain yield and popping expansion. The individual analysis of variance revealedsignificant differences for all traits at 1% probability. In the combined analysis of variance, the genotype by environment interaction was significant at 1% probability for all traits except ear height. The interaction was simple for all traits except mean number of ears. The method of Lin and Binns detected the most suitable and stable genotypes, and also the most productive. UNB2U-C4 and IAC112 contained the lowest values of general Pi. Of those, UNB2U-C4 contributed least to the interaction, and IAC112 ranked fourth in interaction. UNB2U-C4 stood out with the best adaptation to favorable and unfavorable environments. No association between the genetic structure and stability degree in popcorn was observed. Al谷m de ra as, foram avaliados gen車tipos recomendados ou em fase de recomenda o no Brasil (variedades e h赤bridos) em tr那s ambientes no Norte e Noroeste Fluminense. Foram quantificadas oito caracter赤sticas, incluindo rendimento de gr os e capacidade de expans o. A an芍lise de variancia individual revelou diferen as significativas, a 1% de probabilidade de erro, para todas as caracter赤sticas avaliadas. Pela an芍lise de variancia conjunta, com exce o da vari芍vel altura de espiga, houve intera o significativa, a 1% de probabilidade, entre gen車tipos e ambientes. Excetuando-se n迆mero m谷dio de espigas, as demais caracter赤sticas expressaram intera o do tipo simples. O m谷todo de Lin e Binns revelou os gen車tipos mais adaptados e est芍veis, os quais foram tamb谷m, os mais produtivos. UNB2U-C4 e IAC112 contiveram os menores valores de Pi geral. Desses, UNB2U-C4 conteve o menor percentual de contribui o para a intera o e IAC112 foi o quarto gen車tipo a contribuir para a intera o. UNB2U-C4 sobressaiu-se com a melhor adapta o a ambientes favor芍veis e desfavor芍veis. Houve aus那ncia de associa o entre estrutura gen谷tica e grau de estabilidade em milho pipoca.
