As descri es morfoanat micas das esp谷cies vegetais, com finalidademedicamentosa, s o necess芍rias para embasar as an芍lises de controle de qualidade nos laborat車rios de farmacognosia, tendo este estudo o objetivo de analisar duas esp谷cies de Lamiaceae conhecidas como ※falso-boldo§: Plectranthus barbatus e P. grandis, que caracterizame quantificam os tricomas presentes em suas folhas e caule. Para as an芍lises morfoanat micas foram preparadas se es transversais do limbo, pec赤olo e entren車s do caule, utilizando-se de t谷cnicas usuais de morfologia e anatomia vegetal para a prepara o de lamin芍rio semipermanente, tendo como corantes o azul de astra e a safranina. As an芍lises revelaram que as folhas de ambas as esp谷cies s o morfologicamente semelhantes, mas diferindo quanto 角s dimens es do limbo. Os tipos de tricomas glandulares encontrados foram: peltado, captado-longo e captado-curto; e tectores: simples unisseriados com duas ou mais c谷lulas na base. Com algumas exce es, todos os cinco tipos de tricomas foram observados no limbo, pec赤olo e entren車s do caule, tendo P. grandis n迆meros m谷dios significativamente superiores aos encontradas nos 車rg os de P. barbatus, com exce o do tricoma tector simples, mais abundante no caule da segunda esp谷cie. The morphoanatomical description of vegetable species, for medical purpose, is necessary to foreground the analyses of quality control in the pharmacognostic laboratories. The objective of this study was to analyze two Lamiaceae species known as ※false-boldus§ (Plectranthus barbatus and P. grandis), characterizing and quantifying the trichomes present in their leaves and stems. For the morphoanatomical analyses transverse sections of the leaves,petiole, and stem were prepared, using common techniques of plant morphology and anatomy for the preparation of semi-permanent slides, stained with astra blue and safranin. Analyses revealed that the leaves of both species are morphologically similar, but differ with regard to dimensions. The glandular trichomes found were: peltate, short-capitate and long-capitate; and tectors (simple uniseriate with two or more cells in the base). With few exceptions, all five trichomes types were observed in the leaves, petiole and stem, and the averages obtained for P. grandis significantly were superior to the ones found in the P.barbatus organs, except for the trichome simple tector which was more abundant in the stem of the second specie.
