objective: to analyze the relationship between nursing faculty professional profile and their preparation to teach the topic %26quot;death and dying%26quot; in undergraduate nursing program. methods: a descriptive study was used to collect and analyze data from 34 undergraduate nursing faculty members who answered a questionnaire. results: the findings did not support the presupposition that faculty maturity and professional experience had better preparation to teach %26quot;death and dying%26quot; for undergraduate nursing students. faculty teaching of the topic was theoretical and superficial. conclusion: there is a need for discussion and acceptance that undergraduate faculty members are not well prepared to teach %26quot;death and dying%26quot; in nursing undergraduate programs as well as to provide human and effective nursing care to those in the process of dying.
