<正>Renowned Diptera fly taxonomist Zide FAN,winner of the first lifetime achievement award of the Chinese Entomological Society and Professor of Chinese Academy of Sciences,died on February 28,2022 at age 99.Zide FAN was born on February 20,1923 in Suzhou,Jiangsu Province.After graduating from the Biology Department of National Central University in 1944,he worked in Nanjing,Changchun and Shanghai up to1949.From 1949 to 1950,he worked as a lecturer of medical histology at the Nantong University.In August 1950,he transferred to the Shanghai Institute of Entomology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences,working as assistant,assistant researcher,associate researcher,researcher,
