摘要
metric studies for the evaluation of science are a necessary practice to know the trends and most representative lines of research in various scientific domains. universities are institutions that generate a wealth of knowledge. therefore the study of productive behavior is critical to decision making not only these institutions but also of territories and countries where they reside. it examines the scientific production of the central university marta abreu of las villas, from the use of indicators that measure, both the production and the impact of scientific publications of the institution in the journals processed by the former institute for scientific information for the period 2000-2008.
