摘要
The online radon measurements can be achieved by ionization chamber with highly sensitive electronics. The accuracy is limited by the radioactive background of the detector, so that not to use field cage in ionization chamber was proposed. We set up a prototype without a field cage, and did a beam test at the E3 beam line of BEPC. The result is that the electric field near the edge can be 3 times more than that of the central area. The drift time of primary electrons is (1.13±0.44) μs in central area, while it can reach (1.99+1.13) μs in the total prototype. Therefore, it is necessary to take a full consideration to the signal rising time to promote the detection efficiency without using the field cage.
