摘要

Phenomenon of cross sea occurs when wind or swell waves coming from two orthogonal directions approach to the same sea area. Ship motions induced by cross wave may be quite large and its navigational safety should be concerned. This paper investigates the motion behavior of a S175 hull advancing in cross waves with CFD method. Momentum source term and wave forcing techniques are used for generation and absorption of cross waves. Then ship motion prediction method is established by overset grid and volume of fluid (VOF) techniques. Influence of wave parameters on the ship motion is analyzed, which provides useful guidance for the safety of ship navigation when subject to cross waves. ? 2020, Editorial Office of Ship Building of China.
