The high-quality development of higher pharmaceutical education is a crucial foundation for achieving the healthy China strategy, meeting the increasing health needs of the people, and promoting the global advancement of China' s biomedical industry. This article provides a review and summary of innovative development measures taken by higher pharmaceutical education from 2012 to 2022 in ten aspects, as viewed by the Pharmaceutical Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. These measures center on the cultivation of new drug discovery talents and clinical pharmaceutical service talents and include reforms to pharmaceutical talent cultivation mode, education reform of new engineering, new medicine, new agriculture, and new liberal arts, infrastructure construction of pharmaceutical education and teaching, quality assurance systems of higher pharmaceutical education, etc. Based on the proposition of building Chinese modernization presented in the Party's 20th National Congress, this article looks ahead to how to build Chinese higher pharmaceutical education modernization and proposes the reform direction of self-cultivation of innovative talents in key links. ? 2023 Chinese Pharmaceutical Association.
