taxonomic studies on the piperaceae in brazil revealed a new species for the family, based on material from espirito santo state. peperomia ciliato-caespitosa is a plant that occurs in %26quot; campos rupestres%26quot; with a cespitose habit and characteristic fruits, belonging to the subgenus rhynchophorum (miq.) dahlst. the new taxon is described, illustrated and compared to related species.
