摘要

chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension is the only type of pulmonary hypertension that is potentially curable, assuming that the patient in question is a good candidate for surgery. the development and implementation of the thromboendarterectomy technique has, in most cases, allowed the hypertensive state to be resolved and has therefore increased survival among such patients. in recent years, more well-defined criteria for identifying patients for whom surgery is indicated, as well as the identification of prognostic markers, have made it possible to decrease surgical risk significantly.
