摘要
The strengthening of ADC12 Al-Si-Cu series aluminum die-casting alloy resulting from addition of magnesium and its strengthening mechanism were investigated .The results show that the strength of ADC12 alloy in east or T6 treatment condition increases with the increase of magnesium content that is lower than 1.0% .whereas the strength decreases with the increase of magnesium content that is above 1.0% . Fhe alloy is principally strengthened by formation of suitable amount of Mg2Si phase and refinement of eutectic silicon phase without segregation.Excessive magnesium enable more Mg2Si phase to form and to segregate at grain boundaries,resuhing in decrease in strength of the alloy.
