摘要
Ancient books play significant role in different fields of history, art and culture. However, they are inevitably destroyed by ageing, insect and fungi attack, man-made destruction. This paper analyzes the reasons and mechanisms of acidification, embrittlement and yellowing of ageing papers from the perspective of pulping and papermaking, and also summarizes the research status of deacidification and enhancement at home and abroad. Finally, the challenges and future development of deacidification and strengthening of ageing books are discared.
