A New Leaf-vegetable Sweet Potato Cultivar‘Guangcaishu 5’ [茎尖菜用甘薯新品种‘广菜薯 5 号’]

‘Guangcaishu 5’is a new leaf-vegetable sweet potato cultivar bred by crossing‘Quanshu 830’as female parent with‘Tainong 71’as male parent. There is no fuzzes on its stem tip. The vine tip after boiled is green without bitterness. It is slightly fragrant, slightly sweet and delicious. ‘Guangcaishu 5’ has high resistance to Fusarium wilt, moderate resistance to stem nematode and Fusarium adventitious root rot. The average vine tip yield can be harvested during 3 months was 35 760 kg ? hm-2. The taste score was 76.4. It is suitable for planting as supplementary off-season vegetables in the hot days of spring and summer in the southern region and the Yangtze River Basin.
