摘要

A copper-catalyzed N-arylation of various isatoic anhydrides with diaryliodonium salts was developed by using inexpensive CuI as the catalyst under mild conditions. The method provides diverse N-Phenylated isatoic anhydrides in high yields (up to 97%). The mechanism of the N-arylation reaction is proposed to involve an electrophilic addition process.
