摘要
A procedure yielding buta‐2,3‐dien‐1‐ol as mainly a colorless oil is presented. An oven‐dried, four‐necked round‐bottomed flask equipped with a mechanical stirrer, a reflux condenser, two septa, and a thermocouple is placed in a heating mantle. CuI, paraformaldehyde, and THF are added and stirred. The chapter concludes with a discussion on buta‐2,3‐dien‐1‐ol as the most simple allenol.
