Avaliaram-se as caracter赤sticas qualitativas e quantitativas dos diferentes h赤bridos de sorgo AG 2005E, AG 60298 e BR 101 quanto 角 produ o da planta e de suas silagens no desempenho e economicidade do confinamento de novilhos. A altura da planta, produ o de mat谷ria verde (MV) e mat谷ria seca (MS) ha-1 do BR 101 superior (p %26gt; 0,05) aos h赤bridos AG 2005E e AG 60298. O AG 2005E apresentou maior (p = 0,0452) porcentagem de MS no gr o que os demais h赤bridos. A porcentagem de MV da folha foi superior (p = 0,0135) para o BR101 e inferior no AG 60298. Na avalia o da pan赤cula, houve diferen a significativa na porcentagem de MS (p = 0,0332) e MV (p = 0,0332) em favor AG 2005E. N o houve diferen a para a porcentagem de MV do gr o, MS e MV do colmo e MS da folha entre os diferentes h赤bridos. Para as avalia es de desempenho animal, foram utilizados 36 novilhoscom idade m谷dia de 20 meses, peso inicial de 241,49 ㊣ 50,77 kg confinados por 63 dias e abatidos com peso vivo final m谷dio de 379,48 ㊣ 53,98 kg. Os animais alimentados com silagem de sorgo BR 101 e AG 2005E apresentaram maiores consumos de MS (CMS) e CMS por unidade de peso metab車lico. Os h赤bridos AG 2005E e AG 60298 apresentaram melhoresconvers es alimentares e o BR 101 apresentou menor custo de produ o. The objective of the experiment was to evaluate the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the sorghum hybrids AG 2005E, AG 60298 and BR 101 as for the production of the plant and its silagesin the performance and economics of steers in feedlot. The height of the plant, production of green matter and dry matter (DM) ha-1 of BR101 was higher (p %26gt; 0.05) in relation to AG2005E and AG 60298. As for the percentage of DM in the grain, AG 2005E was greater(p = 0.0452) that the others. The percentage of green matter in the leaf showed differences (p = 0.0135), with the BR101 hybrid as the greatest and AG60298 the least. In the evaluation of the panicle, there was a difference in the percentage of DM (p = 0.0332) andgreen matter (p = 0.0332) for the hybrid AG2005E. The percentage of GM in the grain, DM and GM of the stem and MS of the leaf did not present statistical differences. For the evaluations of animal performance, 36 steers with an average age of 20 months were used,with an initial weight of 241.49 kg and confined for 63 days, then slaughtered with an average final weight of 379.48 kg. The animals fed with silage of BR 101 sorghum and AG 2005E got greater intake of DM and metabolic DM size. Hybrids AG 2005E and AG 60298 presented the best feed conversion. BR101 had the lowest production cost.
