The organization and retrieval of information is analysed from the perspective of the automatization process. The automatic or computer-assisted indexing, the role of linguistics in information retrieval, the application of the cognitive paradigm to this area of knowledge, the different models for the interactive retrieval of information and the human-computer interaction are dealt with.
