摘要

Since the early 2000s, the ROK and NATO have defined the framework of their dialogue and cooperation. By deepening relations with NATO, the ROK intends to highlight its pro-Western identity and growing international status, enhance its military capacity, and garner diplomatic pressure on the DPRK into denuclearization. The closer ties between the two sides under the Yoon administration are expected to accelerate NATO’s foray into the Indo-Pacific and undermine regional balance of power, while impacting China-ROK mutual trust and cooperation.
