摘要

this article presents the most notable characteristics of the evolution of the availability for human consumption (ahc) of each of the principal foods consumed in venezuela during the 1970-2001 period. it is structured in three parts: the first relates the dynamic economy to the availability of food energy; next the evolution of the availability of hundreds of categories of food consumed in venezuela is shown classified in groups of food; and finally to conclude recent food dynamics, nutritional contribution and external dependency are analyzed.
