The network type of VxWorks operating system used to be 4.3BSD network driver. In this case, the coupling between the network protocol layer and network driver was tight, which is not conductive to the development and porting of network drivers. As the enhanced network driver(END) adds a MUX middle layer between the network protocol layer and network driver, they are encapsulated as separate modules and the network driver is easy to develop and port. In terms of the END network type, the network structure of MAC layer and PHY layer is studied. In addition, the development process of the PHY layer driver is described in detail and the key code is given according to development process. When the power is on, it is shown that the network driver runs stably and reliably. And it is also valuable for those who are engaged in PHY layer driver development.
