Con el objetivo de determinar el cubrimiento de las publicaciones cient赤ficas impresas editadas por el Ministerio de Salud P迆blica de Cuba, cuyas bases de datos nacionales realizaron Cubaciencia y Cumed en el per赤odo 2000-2004, se realiz車 un estudio biblio-inform谷trico. La Revista Cubana de Medicina General Integral , la Revista Cubana de Medicina y la Revista Cubana de Medicina Tropical fueron las m芍s productivas, con 55,51 % de los art赤culos publicados. De los 843 trabajos incluidos en las revistas seleccionadas, Cubaciencia registr車 297 para 35,23 % del total de la muestra estudiada. Cumed, por su parte, proces車 644 art赤culos (76,39 %), un cubrimiento mayor, pero que no logra una cobertura total. Las instituciones m芍s productivas fueron el Instituto Superior de Medicina Militar %26quot;Dr Luis D赤az Soto%26quot;, el Instituto de Medicina Tropical %26quot;Pedro Kour赤%26quot; y el Instituto Nacional de Angiolog赤a y Cirug赤a Vascular. El cubrimiento de ambas bases de datos comprende solo 55,87 % del total de art赤culos publicados, y esto implica una seria limitaci車n para el acceso, uso y difusi車n de los logros cient赤ficos de los autores cubanos en el 芍rea de la salud por medio de estas bases de datos. In order to determine the coverage of the printed scientific publications published by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, whose national databases were made by Cubaciencia and Cumed from 2000 to 2004, a bibliometric study was carried out. The Revista Cubana de Medicina General Integral, the Revista Cubana de Medicina and the Revista Cubana de Medicina Tropical were the most productive, with 55.51 % of articles published. Of the 843 articles published by the selected magazines, Cubaciencia registered 297, accounting for 35.23 % of the total of the studied sample. Cumed, on the other hand, processed 644 articles (76,39 %). This is a higher coverage, but it is not total yet. The most productive institutions were ※Dr Luis Diaz Soto§ Higher Military Medicine Institute, ※Pedro Kour赤§ Tropical Medicine Institute and the National Institute of Angiology and Vascular Surgery The coverage of both databases includes only 55.87 % of the total of published articles. It implies a serious limitation for the access, use and diffusion of the scientific achievements of the Cuban authors in the health area by means of these databases.
