El repertorio polif車nico de la colegiata de Orihuela seg迆n un inventario de mitad del siglo XVI

Information about the musical chapel in the collegiate church of Orihuela is scarce. Nonetheless the existence of an inventory of polyphonic music dated before 1562 sheds some light on the repertory of the musical chapel in the mid-sixteenth century. The content of the inventory raises, in addition, some general questions regarding the repertory of Spanish ecclesiastical institutions in the mid-sixteenth century. On the one hand, the large number of printed items poses questions on the role of printing in Spain; on the other hand, the high proportion of non-Spanish works gives proof of the penetration of the international repertory in Spanish ecclesiastical institutions.The appendix gives new data of some chapelmasters of Orihuela collegiate church and cathedral in the sixteenth century. La informaci車n sobre la capilla musical de la colegiata de Orihuela es escasa. Sin embargo, la existencia de un inventario de m迆sica polif車nica compilado antes de 1562 muestra el repertorio polif車nico de la capilla a mitad del siglo XVI. El contenido del inventario plantea algunas cuestiones generales sobre la m迆sica en las instituciones eclesi芍sticas espa olas. De un lado, la elevada cantidad de m迆sica impresa suscita refl exiones sobre el papel de la imprenta musical en Espa a; de otro, la alta proporci車n de piezas no espa olas muestra la penetraci車n del repertorio internacional en las capillas espa olas. El ap谷ndice fi nal proporciona datos sobre algunos de los maestros de capilla de la colegiata y catedral de Orihuela en el siglo XVI.
