  The traditional IC reactor(R1) and the new two point return flow IC reactor(R2) whose rise velocity was about 1/2 of the traditional IC reactor' s in the same other conditions was started up, under normal temperature.By the way of entering water of "composed water by glucose + OCC waste water", the ratio of OCC waste water to composed water could be gradually increased.COD removal rate, volumetric loading rate (VLR), specific methanogenic activity (SMA), coenzyme F420, dehydrogenase activity (DHA) in the two IC reactors in the start-up procedure was researched and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) was used to be a characterization of functional bacteria community distribution in the two reactors.The results show, as the start-up was success, compared with the seed sludge, the abundance of the butyrate-oxidizing acetogenic bacteria Syntrophomonas spp.increases by 30.76%, the homoacetogenic bacteria Acetobacterium species E.limosum increases by 52.63%, and methanomicrobium methanomicrobiales increases by 276%, in R1.And the abundance of the butyrate-oxidizing acetogenic bacteria Syntrophomonas spp.increases by 33.74%, the homoacetogenic bacteria Acetobacterium species E.limosum increases by 116%, and methanomicrobium Methanomicrobiales increases by 267%, in R2.Although R2 took a long time to be started up, reduced the difficulty of machining and maintenance greatly by reducing the effective height.And R2 can match R1 in terms of treatment efficiency.
