In order to solve the problem of cleaning the sand core made by resin coated sand process in low-pressure casting of aluminum alloy motor shells for new energy vehicles and improve the qualification rate of the motor shells of electric vehicles, a system with PLC as the control centre was designed for the automatic sand cleaning equipment. By vibrating and rotating the casting, the sand core and the casting were quickly and completely separated, and then the high-pressure gas was intermittently injected to blow the broken sand core out of the spiral waterway of the casting, and finally the sand removing effect was checked by connecting the high pressure water into the spiral waterway. The results show that the system can clean the spiral waterway effectively, and improve the production efficiency and qualification rate of the motor shell castings.
