At present, the preparation of lightweight thermal insulation foam ceramics with solid waste has become a hotspot. But there are few researches on the distribution technology of foam ceramics. In this paper, using molybdenum tailings as main raw material, and different content of foaming agent SiC is added respectively. Then, the lightweight thermal insulation foaming ceramics was sintered with layered and partitioned distribution technology. The effects of foaming agent content and distribution method on the properties of foam ceramic samples were investigated. Finally, the foaming ceramics with uniform foaming, bulk density of 0.44 g/cm3, compressive strength of 3.9 MPa and thermal conductivity of 0.15 W/(m?k) were obtained. In this study, the foam ceramics were prepared by layered and partitioned distribution technology, which provided a feasible way to shorten the firing cycle of foam ceramics.
