摘要

The on-line direct measurement of chemical composition is a long-term pursuit of metallurgical analysis, and it is also known as one of the three major problems faced by metallurgical analysis. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) technology has attracted much attention because of its unique technical advantages in terms of direct, fast, and non-contact without complicated sample preparation. The research progress of LIBS in beneficiation and online detection of molten metals was reviewed. The main existing problems were summarized, and the development in future was prospected.
