objectives: to determine whether patients with coronary artery disease adhere to pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy and to identify factors that might influence these patients%26apos; adherence to the therapies. methods: a cross-sectional study was used. the sample consisted of 92 patients who had their first myocardium infarction. adherence to pharmacological therapy was determined with morisky test. adherence to non-pharmacological therapy was evaluated though lifestyle modifications. results: the majority of the participants (64.1%) were male and had a mean age of 56.4 (sd = 10.9) years. more than a half of them (56.5%) adhered to pharmacological therapy while 40.2% of participants adhered to non-pharmacological therapy. conclusion: the results show low levels of adherence to recommended therapy for secondary prevention of coronary arterial disease.
