摘要

at the end of the 1980ˋs international environmental conditions turned particularly adverse for cuba which, with the fall of the socialist camp, lost its main source of external financing as well as the traditional market for its exports. to consolidate the cuban economic take-off, the export income must be increased, so that their competitiveness is a decisive aspect for achieving success. the present article attempts to quantify the competitiveness of cuban agricultural products, the countryˋs principle exportable funds, through adjusting a competitiveness matrix and to evaluate its performance in order to understand the capacity to enter the international market and propose strategies for its development.
