Se realiza un breve esbozo de la vida y la obra de la destacada intelectual cubana Mar赤a Teresa Freyre de Andrade, fundadora de la bibliotecolog赤a cubana; se analizan sus aportes al campo de la bibliograf赤a y su extenso quehacer como bibliotecaria antes y despu谷s del triunfo de la Revoluci車n. An outline of the life and work of the outstanding Cuban intellectual Mar赤a Teresa Freyre de Andrade, founder of the Cuban library science, is made. Her contributions to the bibliographical field and her extensive work as a librarian before and after the triumph of the Revolution are analysed.
