摘要

Lignocellulose plant is an important natural resources for manufacturing material, energy, and chemicals, the fractionation of cellulose, lignin, and hemicellulose is a hot topic being concerned for years. Exploring the degradation rules of hemicellulose and the change of its structure is of great significance to achieve efficient separation of the plants' three main components. This paper expounded the determination methods of the main degradation products of hemicelluloses during alkaline cooking process, i.e., 4-O-methylglucuronic acid (meGlcA) and its derivative hexane uronic acid (HexA). Accurately determining the content of meGlcA would help improve the pulping process and the purity of separated fibers and the quality of resultant paper, so as to achieve high-value application of cellulose. HexA affects the consumption of bleaching chemicalsin bleaching process, its determination could provide helpful message to bleaching stage.
