摘要

The numerical manifold method (NMM) is applied to compute the T-stresses for planar cracks in isotropic linear elastic materials. The NMM discrete equations for two-dimensional crack simulation are derived by the aid of the modified variational principle. Important formulations for the computation of T-stresses through the domain-independent interaction integral method are provided. Several examples with increasing complexity are tested. The convergence and accuracy of the proposed method are numerically verified and the effects of crack configurations (e.g., the crack length and inclined angle) on the T-stresses are also inspected.
