摘要

<正>Dinosaur egg clutches represent remarkable specimens in being both body fossils(the anatomical remains of an ancient animal) as well as a trace fossil(the direct product of animal behavior in the past). Paleontologists continue to unravel the information present in these specimens. The eggs(and in the exceptional specimen from the Late Cretaceous of China described by Bi et al. [1] with embryos and even an attending adult) comprise the skeletal remains providing insight into egg notably gas exchange), developmental stage when the embryos died, and through stable isotopes, information on the temperatures of both egg formation and incubation.
