摘要
To reveal the generation mechanism of surface orange peel of aluminum alloy sheet during incremental sheet forming process and to explore the process method for improving the surface quality, AA5052 aluminum alloy sheet with the thickness of 0.8 mm was used to make cone frustum parts and square cone parts by the different single point incremental sheet forming process parameters combinations. Firstly, the free surface morphology of the specimens which did not contact with the tool head was observed by optical microscope, and then the surface roughness and surface profile curves were measured by the surface roughness measuring instrument. The results show that the step depth and forming angle have a significant effect on the surface quality of the free surface of parts; the larger the forming angle of the parts are, the more serious the surface fold is; the deeper the step depth is, the more visible the surface orange peel is. The friction mode between the tool head and parts also significantly affects the surface orange peel, and the surface quality can be improved by using rolling ball tool head. The quality of the free surface of the parts by single-pass incremental sheet forming is significantly better than that by multi-pass incremental sheet forming.
