Objectives: To evaluate patient with non surgical liver cancer , who received transarterial Rhenium 188 -Lipiodol, as therapeutic alternative.Methods: Eleven patients of liver cancer non operable were treated with Rhenium -188 Lipiodol. Radioactivity between170-4181 MBq was administered by hepatic arteriography All patients were followed by clinical examination, liver function tests, haematological examinations and CT scans of liver.Results: Rhenium-188 Lipiodol treatment was well tolerated. Three patients developed mild fever which subsided subsequently and 1 patient developed Interstitial inespecific Pneumonities which resolved completely with corticoids. Follow-up CT scans revealed significant reduction in tumor size in seven patients ,unaltered in one, progression in one and 2 have not been evaluated . Best results were seen in patients with HCC. A total of six patients have died.Conclusions: Rhenium-188 Lipiodol is a safe treatment , the technique of easy preparation and reproducible, and is another tool for management of patients.Objetivo: Evaluar pacientes con lesiones tumorales hep芍ticas, no quir迆rgicas, a quienes se les administro Renio 188 -Lipiodol v赤a transarterial, como alternativa terap谷utica.M谷todo: Once pacientes con c芍ncer de h赤gado no operable se trataron con dosis entre 170 y 4181 MBq de Renio 188 Lipiodol a trav谷s de la arteria hep芍tica. Los pacientes fueron evaluados cl赤nicamente, con test hematol車gicos, de funci車n hep芍tica y TAC hep芍tico peri車dicamente.Resultados: El tratamiento con Renio 188 Lipiodol fue bien tolerado . Tres pacientes desarrollaron fiebre leve y un paciente Neumonitis Intersticial que resolvi車 completamente. En el TAC de control siete pacientes evidenciaron reducci車n significativa del tama o de la lesi車n , 1 sin cambios, 1 progresi車n y 2 no se han evaluado.Conclusiones: Renio 188 Lipiodol es un tratamiento seguro, la t谷cnica de preparaci車n f芍cilmente reproducible y se constituye en una alternativa terap谷utica para este tipo de pacientes.
