Along with the development of the Chinese planning practice, together with international lesson-learning, urban and rural planning as a national first discipline is established from the base of architecture and geography.At the same time, planning careers are becoming diverse involving management, research and design.New Urbanization promoted by the central government sets a higher standard for the planning discipline.To adapt to the above situation, two changes in the course of planning principle is needed to incubate the future planners.First, in terms of the content of the course, attention needs to be paid to planner's ability,including not only planning knowledge and design ability, but also the ability to respond practical issues quickly.The ethnic issues of social value and responsibility also need to be addressed, to better bridge planning education and planning practice.Second, the courses of planning principle and planning design studio need to match each other.This can be done by introducing role-playing games in the lecture, to inspire students to act different roles in planning practice, providing multiple lenses to planning career.This can be a good start to transform the traditional planning education towards a more career-oriented training program.
