摘要

Accurate simulation of 3D sea waves is of great importance in the evaluation of hydrodynamic performance of ships. This paper focuses on the numerical simulation of short-crested irregular waves with CFD-based RANS method. A cubic numerical wave tank was established by STAR-CCM+ software. With the help of Java macro command, the target directional spectrum was decomposed into regular component waves with different frequencies, directions, amplitudes and random phases. Parameters of regular component waves were allocated based on VOF wave superposition model and the Java code. Examples of ship motions induced by typical short-crested waves are simulated and analyzed.
