DyVO4 single crystal was grown by Czochralski technique with high-pure DyVO4 powder prepared by liquid phase method. The crystal structure belongs to tetragonal system, determined by XRD, with unit cell parameter a=b=0.71434 nm,c=0.6313 nm,α=β=γ=90°. The crystal was cut along c axis, and fabricated into pie and rod samples. The optical and magneto-optical properties were measured, and the results reveal that the sample had high transmissivity up to the range of 76%-79% within 500-700 nm scale. The Verdet constant of the DyVO4 crystal alone <001> deriction at 532 nm, 633 nm and 980 nm was -309 rad/m/T, -167 rad/m/T and -64 rad/m/T, which is superior to TGG, the current commerical crystal, and is expected to be applied to magneto-optical devices in visible light band. transport current method.
