Foram conduzidos dois experimentos com o objetivo de avaliar n赤veis derestri o energ谷tica (3.200, 2.960 e 2.720 kcal de EM kg-1), por meio da eleva o da fibra diet谷tica (casca de arroz), para su赤nos abatidos com peso elevado. Experimento 1 - Foram utilizados 36 su赤nos (69,39 ㊣ 5,38 kg). As vari芍veis estudadas (desempenho, carca a e NUP) foram agrupadas de acordo com o peso de abate (70 - 90 kg e 90 - 115 kg). Ao todo, foram abatidos 12 animais com peso de 87,55 ㊣ 3,12 kg e 15 animais com peso de 115,41 ㊣ 6,20 kg. Nenhuma das vari芍veis estudadas foi influenciada pelos diferentes n赤veis de EM. Experimento 2 - Foram utilizados 15 su赤nos machos (84,8 ㊣ 4,5 kg), alojados em gaiolas demetabolismo. Houve aumento linear da produ o total de fezes, mat谷ria seca e mat谷ria organica, com a redu o do n赤vel energ谷tico, contudo sem aumentar a excre o total de f車sforo (P) e nitrog那nio (N). Houve redu o do coeficiente de digestibilidade da MS e PB das ra es com a redu o da energia (eleva o da fibra), o que levou a redu o do GDP epiora na CA. Os resultados sugerem que o abate de su赤nos com peso de at谷 115 kg 谷 poss赤vel sem preju赤zo do desempenho e das caracter赤sticas da carca a, independente do n赤vel de EM das dietas, entretanto ocorre aumento na produ o total de fezes com a redu o da EM e aumento da fibra diet谷tica sem, contudo, aumentar a excre o de N e P. Two trials were carried out to study the energy restriction (3200, 2960 and 2720 kcal of ME kg-1) for late finishing pigs, by means ofadding dietary fiber (ground rice hull). Experiment I - 36 pigs were used (69.39 ㊣ 5.38 kg). The variables studied (performance, carcass traits and PUN) were separated according to the slaughter weight (70-90 kg and 90-115 kg). 12 pigs weighting 87.55 ㊣ 3.12 kg and 15pigs weighting 115.41 ㊣ 6.20 kg were slaughtered. None of the variables studied were influenced by the different levels of ME. Experiment II -15 barrows were used (84.8 ㊣ 4.5 kg) and kept on metabolism crates. There was a linear increase of total feces, dry matter (DM) and organic matter output, according to dietary energy reduction, without causing an increase in total phosphorous (P) and nitrogen (N) excretion. Digestibility coefficient of DM and crude protein decreased, which led to a decrease in daily weight gain and anincrease in feed: gain ratio. Results suggest the possibility to slaughter high lean meat pigs, weighting up to 115 kg, without impairing performance and carcass traits, regardless dietaryenergy level.
