摘要
<正>The nucleus is a complex many-body quantum system composed of protons and neutrons, collectively called nucleons. Generally, the structure of the nucleus is described as nucleons moving independently in a mean field created by the interactions between them, which further give rise to the shell structure similar to that for electrons in atoms. While such a mean-field or shell-model picture is able to provide a reasonable description for many nuclear properties, the final and complete picture of nuclear many-body systems still remains to be established. Extensive efforts are being devoted to revealing correlations beyond the mean-field picture and achieving the detailed understanding at a microscopic level.
